Madeline Malowney, MA, LPCCMs. Malowney completed her Bachelor's degree in Psychology at the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities. She went on to earn her Master's Degree in Clinical Counseling, specializing in Child & Adolescent Mental Health from Bethel University. Ms. Malowney previously worked at a partial hospitalization program with children and adolescents struggling with anxiety-based disorders, specifically OCD, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, panic attacks and various phobias. She also has a specialty in working with children, adolescents, and adults diagnosed with eating disorders, including Avoidant and Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) and co-occurring anxiety-based disorders.
Ms. Malowney provides a compassionate and trusting approach, along with implementing evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Family Based Treatment (FBT, specifically for eating disorders). She emphasizes the importance of the therapeutic relationship and strives to connect with children/adolescents and their families where they are in the treatment and healing process. As a south Minneapolis resident, Ms. Malowney enjoys dining at neighborhood restaurants and walks around the nearby lakes with her dog, Scout. She values quality time with family and friends, and her hobbies include gardening, paddle-boarding, yoga, and snowboarding. |
