Allison Thorson, MSW, LICSWMs. Allison “Alli” Thorson is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families in private practice and residential treatment throughout the midwest and southwest regions of the United States. She received her undergraduate degree from North Dakota State University and Master’s Degree from Arizona State University. She has expertise in case management and providing direct services to children ages 7-18, young adults, and families. She has particular areas of interest working with those struggling with depression, anxiety, emotional regulation, life stressors and transitions, self-esteem, empowerment, self-care, and female issues.
Ms. Thorson truly believes therapy is an emotional, messy, beautiful, and unique process. She strives to provide a safe and nonjudgmental space for clients to build a trusting therapeutic relationship and is thankful for her clients’ willingness to allow her to come with them on their journey. She utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, strengths-based, solution-focused, and mindfulness. Ms. Thorson brings light-hearted, casual, and compassionate vibes to her sessions as she believes therapy is as unpredictable and adventurous as life itself. In her spare time Ms.Thorson enjoys reading, crafting, listening to Taylor Swift, and spending quality time with friends and family. You will most likely see her sporting Vikings gear proudly. Ms. Thorson is also an avid runner and enjoys taking in sporting events all throughout the year. But above all, she enjoys being home with her significant other and pets (dogs: Muffin and Kona; cats, Lucy and Jaxx). |
