Myeida Beasley, MA, LPCMyeida Beasley received her Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling with a concentration of Child, Marriage and Family at Argosy University in Atlanta, GA. She received a dual Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology. Ms. Beasley has previously seen clients in day treatment, residential treatment, and school-based settings. Her areas of expertise include helping children with disruptive behaviors, trauma, anxiety, social skills deficits and emotional regulation. Ms. Beasley is also experienced working with children on the autism spectrum and providing parent coaching.
Ms. Beasley’s creative and enthusiastic energy creates a relaxing, fun and playful atmosphere. She believes and works towards establishing trust and rapport with families so they can feel relaxed and empowered. She takes a creative and interactive approach to cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques by focusing on what the child enjoys and applying it to the skills taught in session. She utilizes play based approach, CBT, mindfulness, sensory related strategies (deep breathing and progressive muscle relaxation) and follows the trauma focused CBT (TF-CBT) model for clients who experience trauma. She is also a certified Parent Coach through the Mad2Glad program. Ms. Beasley was born in Chicago, IL and raised in Milwaukee, WI. She currently lives in Minneapolis and yet still enjoys cheering on the Packers! In her free time, she reads mystery and crime novels, runs 5k races and listens to 80s music. |
