Lauren Nelson, BSLauren Nelson earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and is in the final stages of earning her Master’s Degree in Counseling and Psychological Services from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. Lauren previously worked at a residential program for adults with OCD and anxiety, and a partial hospitalization program where she utilized evidenced-based treatments for children, adolescents, and adults.
Lauren provides a compassionate and supportive therapeutic relationship, while staying grounded in a skills-based approach to promote self-understanding and empowerment. She is committed to helping clients change their inner dialogue, learn more adaptive coping skills, and incorporate value-based actions to create a more meaningful life. Lauren specializes in treating concerns related to depression and anxiety-based disorders, specifically obsessive-compulsive disorder, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, panic attacks, and specific phobias. Her treatment modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis, attending concerts, and going for hikes with her dog. She likes to crochet for her nieces and nephews, volunteer with horses, and read memoirs and books about psychological well-being. |
