Jessica Hootz, MA
Ms. Jessica Hootz completed her master’s degree in School Counseling from Seton Hall University in New Jersey. She also holds an undergraduate degree from Colgate University in Upstate New York. Ms. Hootz is a licensed school counselor in Minnesota, and has worked with students at the middle and high school levels. She is currently completing her Ed.S (Educational Specialist) licensure in Professional Counseling while completing training and supervision toward her Professional Counseling Licensure (LPC).
Ms. Hootz specializes in working with children and adolescents who demonstrate concerns related to stress, anxiety, depression, social skills, and school/academics. She also specializes in working with student athletes in order to build necessary skills to grow as both athletes and individuals. Ms. Hootz’s energy, enthusiasm and focus around building a positive therapeutic relationship help create an environment where clients feel safe and welcome. She believes this is the first step toward progress and growth in therapy.
Ms. Hootz was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, but has lived in the United States since 2009. She first moved to the United States to attend Colgate University to play Division 1 Collegiate Hockey, where she played for 4 years. In her spare time, she cheers on the Edmonton Oilers hockey team and enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and dog, Boone.
